joggerI’ve been trying to be healthy for the last few months and I believe it would help pump up my motivation and dedication to exercise or indulge in sports if I had been a member of a sports club. I’m from the south (Las Piñas), and there are very few sports club I can say will give me a total health and wellness experience.

That was the case… until I heard of The Village Sports Club in BF Homes Parañaque. I know you folks might say – but there’s the pavement, the streets on my village for me to run or jog. But mind you, can’t I have the whole package? Swimming, Tennis, a bit of shooting the hoops and still have a part of the sports club solely for running or jogging? Or perhaps get a relaxing sauna treatment before a massage at their Zenith wellness center?

I’ve come up with some benefits to joining The Village Sports Club or any sports club for that matter that I’m sure you’ll agree with.

1. Get Healthy thru exercise.  Whether your exercise is through practicing your forehand in tennis (The Village Sports Club has Green Clay Tennis Courts similar to the ones used in the US Open Clay Court championships), or finishing several laps in the 25m, 8 lane lap pool, being healthy is  top priority. With the economic recession and job loss left and right, getting sick is not an option. Taking part in a sports can dramatically improve your health and wellbeing, and develops your fitness. Endorphins are also produced through exercise. Remember the line from the movie Legally Blonde? “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy!”

2. Socialize! Gone are the days of solo sports – nowadays people run in groups, play by teams, because playing solo isn’t really fun now, is it? Not only do you get to develop your skills in your chosen sport, you also get to meet people who can either help you in your 3 pt shot, or help you in business. Who knows? You might even meet the love of your life through sports.

3. A Proper Venue to do Sports. For people who want to go solo (like solitary jogging or swimming), joining a Sports club gives you the proper venue to practice your favorite sport. The Village Sports Club is one of the more accessible sports club in the Metro, with top of the line facilities. A jogging path is set aside for joggers and runners alike. Exposure to street dangers (disrespectful drivers, and even more discourteous onlookers) is minimized.

4. A chance to get pointers from other people. You might be overstriding or landing heel first with your foot when running, or a better way to swing your racket might be shared with you with fellow team mates. Who knows what valuable information or pointers you might get from your companions!

5. It will keep you motivated. Why? You’ll be paying a fair amount of money and you don’t want it to go to waste by just letting days pass by without breaking a sweat.

6. Your family can join you in your path to health and wellness. Unlike in gyms, your whole family can visit The Village Sports Club (a benefit of your membership where principal member and their extensions have access to the facilities and amenities of the sports club). Let the little ones enjoy the kid friendly pools, the wifeys go to the yoga and pilates studio, the hubbies

I haven’t event started with the benefits of the other amenities of The Village Sports Club! What other benefits of joining a sports club can you think of? Do share!
